We're Well In To Summer and Things are Showing Green

We’re well in to summer
And things are showing green
The new strand of fence stands out
A reminder of new and days long passed
I look at things undone
Then to those I’ve done
I’m learning to not dwell
It’s been cloudy
But the sun’s back tomorrow
In a few days we head to Alaska
Lots of energy remains
Many more years of travel
Though the house is older
And we its long residents
And the expression on my face
Is out of control from a trauma
Unnamed, unremembered
Just now as the sun came out
It began to rain
I don’t know anymore
Which clothes to wear
Which friends to keep
Which ones have let me go
I sip red tea
Notice the clutter
A fungus growth on the table
Where I write
Few signs of where the big tree fell
They patched things up
Sowed a few seeds
And for a while more
We are back in business
Growing noses and ears
Decaying teeth
Remembering what?
But…
We’re well in to summer
And things are showing green
